Day 1 of Blogmas: Smaller stories and Tales of the Glories of Christmases Long, Long Ago; Winter is Coming

As John MacArthur readies for vacation #9 this Christmas, the Board at MDZ are choosing to participate in Blogmas this year to place the tidbits, puns and photos that did not fit into a larger story. There’s a lot. So as Twitter burns (or at least that is how some are perceiving it), enjoy the daily reminders that God is still good, the days are evil, and Modern Day Pharisees in the end…do not win.

— California health departments are warning of an uptick in Covid cases and the flu (let’s not disparage the flu, which is still very much a factor in seasonal illness). Los Angeles County Health Department and Dr. Barbara Ferrer “strongly recommend” masking as LA County moves back to the Medium tier. We all know what this means: masking orders will be returning. My guess is within the next two weeks during the busiest shopping days and after everyone got used to being without it. <Sad trombone>. Credit: fred butler

— Yes, Mary did know. She really did. Stop singing this song.

— The previous quote was given before the sermon on August 29, 2021. It was after the settlement (not win. Settlement.) between Grace Community Church and the Los Angeles Department of Public Health. Some suggested that this admission was one of the stipulations of settlement. That’s highly probable for the simple reason that there was absolutely no way that MacArthur would admit that he had been wrong about how he handled matters and that even worse, he too, was greatly affected by the virus himself.

In days to come, I can assure you that more who witnessed this will come forward and leave GCC, but for now…since it’s Christmas, we’ll let it go. What says Christmas more than lying to friends and family about how well we’re doing.
