Delta be Damned.

If you recall earlier this year, the Los Angeles Times wrote an article regarding the defiance of Grace Community Church in their insistence of having their annual Shepherds’ Conference and then, hours later, the church announcing that they had decided to postpone the event. New York Times also wrote a piece on it as well.

Then, the Shepherds’ Conference was held in a smaller question and answer format called the “State of the Church”. Then, it was announced that Shepherds’ Conference would be cancelled for 2021 and resume for a 2022 date. Apparently, the Legacy Standard Bible was not ready for production and other things like a global pandemic resurgence occurred. Details are fuzzy.

Were you; however, aware that despite this announcement another Shepherds’ Conference occurred on Grace Church campus? The LADPH were not aware of this at the time, but the event proceeded nonetheless where pastors from all over the world came to hear John MacArthur, Paul Washer, and a cast of other prominent Spanish-speaking ministers. Expositores 2020.

Updated Health Officer Order for Los Angeles County:

It is possible that the Expositores Conference could be consider a “Mega Event”, or Event Gigante…and therefore, a superspreader and under the following mandates. After Grace Community Church “settled” their case against Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, whatever is stipulated in that agreement is most assuredly a compromise on the part of the LADPH to enforce their Health Order.

Tell me again…why did Grace postpone ShepCon? Because it is not church. It was an “event” and does not fall under the First Amendment protections.
